Frequently

Asked

Questions

Why do you only work remotely?

Since Covid I have offered counselling via the telephone and on zoom. My clients find it beneficial.  It allows for greater flexibility with appointment times, saves time and travel expense. I do not find it hinders the building of trust and rapport so valuable to the therapeutic relationship.

How long are the sessions?

The sessions last for 50 minutes.  Your appointment will be on the same day and at the same time each week. If your particular circumstances make this too difficult it may be possible to arrange more flexible appointment times.

How much do you charge?

I charge £60 per session.

What is confidentiality?

Difficult and delicate topics are often discussed.  Anything you say to me remains with me, safe, and anonymised.

Are there exceptions to confidentiality?

Yes.  I am legally obliged to break confidentiality if:

There is a risk of harm to yourself or another.

If there is a child protection issue.

If there is disclosure of money laundering or terrorism.

What is supervision?

I am required by the BACP and NCPS to attend regular clinical supervision with a trusted professional.  This helps to keep my work ethical, safe and of a high standard.

As a qualified supervisor, I understand the value of these sessions which help me to offer you best practice.
